1. Your Rights Under South African Law

Under the Consumer Protection Act (Act 68 of 2008), you have the right to:

  • Receive goods that are of good quality, in good working order, and free of defects.
  • Return goods within 6 months if they are defective or not as described.
  • Receive a refund, repair, or replacement for defective goods.

Our policy below is designed to comply with these requirements while offering additional flexibility for change-of-mind returns.

2. Eligibility for Returns & Refunds

Defective or Incorrect Items (CPA Protected)

  • Items that are faulty, damaged, or not as described may be returned within 6 months of delivery.
  • Proof of purchase (invoice or order number) is required.
  • We will cover all return shipping costs for defective/incorrect items.

Change-of-Mind Returns

  • Items may be returned within 12 days of delivery if you change your mind.
  • Item must be unused, in original condition, with all packaging, tags, and labels intact.
  • Proof of purchase is required.

3. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned for change-of-mind reasons (defective items still covered under CPA):

  • Personalised or custom-made products
  • Underwear, swimwear, and pierced earrings (for hygiene reasons)
  • Gift cards and vouchers
  • Digital products (e-books, software downloads)
  • Perishable goods
  • Items marked as "Final Sale" or "Non-Returnable"

4. How to Initiate a Return

1. Email projectinflamedinfo@gmail.com with your order number and reason for return.

2. We will respond within 2 business days with a Return Authorisation Number and instructions.

3. Include the Return Authorisation Number with your returned items.

4. Returns without authorisation may experience delays.

5. Return Shipping & Costs

  • Defective/incorrect items: We provide a prepaid return label or arrange collection.
  • Change-of-mind returns: Customer pays return shipping. We recommend using a trackable method (SA Post Office registered mail or courier).
  • We are not liable for returns lost in transit without tracking.

6. Inspection & Processing

  • Returns are inspected within 3–7 business days of receipt.
  • Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days to your original payment method.
  • Bank processing times may add 3–10 additional business days.

7. Refund Methods

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
  • For EFT payments to South African banks, please provide your bank details (account holder name, bank name, account number, branch code).
  • Store credit is available on request and does not expire.

8. Exchanges

We currently process returns for refunds rather than direct exchanges. To exchange an item:

1. Return the original item for a refund.

2. Place a new order for the desired item.

9. Special Considerations for South Africa

Courier Returns

We recommend using reputable couriers (The Courier Guy, Dawn Wing, Aramex) for faster returns.

Remote Areas

For customers in remote areas, we may accept photos/videos as proof of defect before arranging a courier collection.

VAT Invoices

A VAT invoice is issued with every order and required for all returns.

10. Electronic Transactions Act (ECTA)

Our online transactions comply with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA). You have a general right to cancel certain transactions within 7 days of receipt of goods or services without reason or penalty, though our 12-day change-of-mind policy offers you even more flexibility.
